Nobunari Oda & Daisuke Takahashi performed in Kansai University Ice Show. Translation (incomplete yet): (...) Juninor skaters participated in tournament at Kansai University. At this tournament students from primary and secondary schools from Kansai and Takatsuki, as well as from the skating schools there, have shown their programs. Local skaters who aim at the victory have started their seasons here. The local people who witnesset this event awarded them with an applause. After the tournament the time came for a show by admired by juniors members of Kansai University SKating Club: a former World silver medalist, Daisuke Takahashi, and Nobunari Oda, who didn't participate last season, have shown their World-level programs. Figure skaters Nobunari Oda and Daisuke Takahashi performed together in an ice show at Kansai University. Nobunari Oda skated with ease, performing a perfect "Masquerade Ball" program. His senior, Daisuke Takahashi, gave into the feeling of tiredness and fell on difficult step sequence. When their programs ended, they showed that in spite of being rivals, they are also good friends. Daisuke: I made a mistake... After that I was really... a bit embarassed. Nobunari: I did my best to perform at my best. After all, it's performing in front of fans that encourages me to skate well! Figure skaters Daisuke Takahashi and Nobunari Oda have shown their short programs skating in an ice show at Kansai University. Both are aiming for Olympics in Vancouver. The time to raise the curtain of this season's competition is close. Daisuke: I felt bitter hearing Summer Oympians got gold medals. I thought about a lot of things. The ultimate goal in my mind is to get a gold medal at Vancouver Olympics. I'm full of thoughts. Nobunari: I have truly disappointed my fans last season... To make up for that, and to return the favour of support to all my fans, I would like to do my best! In a home city, Osaka, Oda performed his short program of the upcoming season. He switched to Morozov, the coach who coached Shizuka Arakawa to an Olympic gold. He is starting the season with new feelings, aiming to free himslef from the "number 2" label. The ace Daisuke Takahashi doesn't want to lose, either. This was Japan's pronce beautiful dance. On this day, Daisuke Takahashi skated last. He showed high jumps well prepared for the season, which will start in 1 month, but stumbled on a step sequence. In May the Ice Prince switched away from his coach, Morozov, and is now aiming for a change. Japan's ace is swiftly approaching his goal, to win gold medal at Olympics in Vancouver, which are only a year and a half away. Daisuke: I felt bitter hearing Summer Oympians got gold medals. When the juniors have finished their program, Daisuke Takahashi and Nobunari Oda for the first time in a year performed here together. "In my home city I can't skate a poor program", said Nobunari Oda. He skated a dynamic program that appealed to the audience. Takahashi performed a difficult step sequence, showing his masterly skill. After that the audience called for an encore, and both of them appeared on the ice again. After changing the outfit, Nobunari skated to a slow tune with beautiful expression. (Unfinished yet)
