KLR 650 Wheel Well Mod

Back

If you have the stock exhaust, you shouldn't need to do this modification. The body work (side covers and seat) removal and installation video is here if you need it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPu7erb1hrQ Tools you'll need: Philips screwdriver Saw Razor blade Unplug the wire connectors (2). One is going to the heat sink, the other is on the left side of the bike going through a holder. Draw an ouline going around the exhaust of where you want to cut to. Unscrew the 2 (Philips) screws holding the wheel well to the rear fender. There are also "clamps" holing the sides of the wheel well in place. Just bend the well and slide one side out at a time. Use the saw and cut from the outide of the fender to the outline you drew before. Take the razor blade and score along the line and bend the newly created tabs backwards. The plastic will turn white, cut along the white with the razor blade and pull the tab off. Put the well back in the sliders and replace the the screws (use medium (blue) loctite. Reconnect the 2 sets of wires. Replace the body work (video link up top). For a wealth of KLR 650 information, please visit KLR650.NET - Your Kawasaki KLR650 Resource!
