Bonnie Prince Charlie parade and battle in Derby

In the City of Derby, every December since 1990 The Charles Edward Stuart Society have organsied a colourful pageant and re-enact of a battle on Derby Cathedral Green which culminates in the laying of wreaths at the foot of the Bonnie Prince Charlie statue. 2006 was the final time battle took place on Cathedral Green as a new bridge is being built Summer 2007. The 2007 event in Derby takes place on 2nd Dec. Starting with the parade through the city, starting on Wilmot Street. The battle on Derbys Cathedral Green starts at 3min 57sec The bronze statue of Bonnie Prince Charlie on horseback that you see at the start and at the end of the video is by sculptor Anthony Stones and was unveiled on Derbys' Cathedral Green in 1995, to mark the 250th Anniversary of the Prince's advance to the city.
