Confidential files made public: all the dope on Betty Boop's prize puppy. Appearing in several cartoons between 1934 and 1939, Pudgy the pup was a cute creation of the Max Fleischer Cartoon Studio. Animated by masters like Myron Waldman and David Tendlar and "directed" by Dave Fleischer, Pudgy gave Betty lotsa love, some grief, and not a few fun times. His activities were unflinchingly documented and then filed away, withstanding decades of subsequent neglect. YouTube channel "northbreed1" beat the likes of investigative journalist Geraldo Rivera to the opening of the vault in which the rusty file cabinet storing "The Pudgy Portfolio" awaited rediscovery. (The cabinet, er, really existed.) Its lock was forced, the string-wound-and-knotted portfolio was pulled out and untied, and the enclosed files are now revealed for the ardent consideration of you, the indefatigably curious YouTube viewer. If it hasn't occurred by the time you read this text: would you like to see the Fleischer Betty Boop cartoons restored and released, complete, on DVD? (I have in mind a set not unlike those recently released by Warner Home Entertainment featuring the complete, chronological Fleischer Popeye cartoons.)
