Yeah and Brian probably appreciates it when people can relate to him. You could write a song about him being a great genius but I think that would be pretty typical.

I don't think it is disrespectful at all.Brian Wilson struggled a great deal with mental illness and it is a part of his story . I don't think the author of the song was trying to disrespect him at all.. The irony is that Dr Landi saved his life but then controlled it .

if I'd heard this version first, I would hate it too. Very dated production and affected vocals. But The live version I heard really hooked me... and brain's version is funny too.

I think they do a great job not only with this song, but just approaching depression in a different way. And if this is disrespectful.. FYI Brian Wilson covered this song himself.

i just find it to be somewhat disrespectful, the whole straight-jacket motif is a little much. If you're gonna write a song about Brian Wilson, write about how much of a genius he is, not how he would lay in bed when he was depressed.
