Another reason it can't be django is that the guitarists hand is normal. Django was in a horrible fire and his third and forth fingers partially paralyzed giving him a very distinct left hand.

Actually this is the original version. It was written for this movie. This was filmed in December, 1960. The Duke & Basie album was recorded in July, 1961.

Django had been dead nearly eight years when this was filmed(December,1960).

The guitarist's name is Roger Blin. I don't think his name is in the credits for the film.

If I am not wrong the white dude with a mustache and a guitar Louis Amstrong challenges with his trumpet to play is Django Reinhardt.

Duke wrote this tune with Billy Strayhorn. It was oringinaly on the Duke Ellington meets Count Basie.The tune was called Battle Royal.This shows when Pop's wanted too play he could hold his own, and show what a great master of the trumpet he was. When playing with other masters he was still a star among stars!Pop's out did himself.
