my family fought against each other- my dad's dad flew bombers for the U.S, and my moms dad was a german infantryman stationed in frankfurt, while my other grandfather bombed the shit out of them. my grandfather's brother lost his life being bombed by the US. both grandfathers have never told the stories until about a week ago, and I realized what complete hell they must have went through. remember the fallen and listen to the stories of the few who are left- you'd be amazed at what you'd learn.
