I saw Lana in Tucson, AZ at the Doubletree Inn ca. 1976. She was fabulous. I have 4 of her LP's on vinyl. That night she said that she was recording for the Polydor label at that time. Her band was really tight. She surprised everyone in the crowd by opening with "Dancin' Machine" the Jackson 5 hit and a few other rousers she wasn't known for. She then eased into some other songs that people knew her for. The second show that night was free.

It's so good to know other people out there have great taste in great singers like Lana Cantrell. I was only a kid in the 60's but thought she was stunning AND a great voice. I believe it was singer Frances Faye who discovered her and took her back to the States. But these posts are very much appreciated. Where the hec does one find them???

LOVE Lana Cantrell. Had all of her albums that have of course disappeared over all the years and all the moves. If RCA had a brain, it would re-release ALL her stuff on CD. I'd be first in line!

I saw her club act several times and she looked and sounded great. RCA should release all of her material on cd, but let's not hold out breath

I always loved Lana. Her energy, short hair cut, lovely face, and beautiful voice mesmerized me. I saw her in concert in Chicago around the mid-70's. She was fabulous. It's our loss that she didn't have a longer-lasting career. There aren't many like the great Lana Cantrell.

Lana has been a practicing lawyer in NYC for many years now. She is also 64 years old at this point. I am guessing that she is not interested in a comeback, but it would surely be nice if she was. Her recording of "Two For The Road" has been one of my favorite songs for at least the last 30 years. It surprises me that it is virtually impossible to find her recordings online, even in the iTunes store. If anyone has video of her appearances on Ed Sullivan or Johnny Carson, please post them.

Thanks so much for this! She was and I guess still is so great! I have her albums and have always loved her. The song, "Isn't it a lovely day to be caught in the rain" is one of my all time faves!!!!! Please, if you have more..please post them. Thanks again!!!

Lana became an entertainment lawyer & I think practices in NYC. Geesh it'd be nice if she recorded again! What a great voice.

Lana Cantrell virtually disappeared in the late 60's and this was a loss to pop music.
